As a researcher at Lunar, you will play a crucial role in driving user-centric design and product development. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to uncover user insights and inform product strategy. By identifying people's needs, you will also uncover business opportunities and ensure that our strategies and teams are well-informed to meet the needs of our users effectively.
Responsibilities
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research studies to gain a deep understanding of user behaviours, motivations, pain points, and needs - deriving tentative needs of user and non-users, defining opportunities in the market and evaluating existing user journeys.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, product managers, and designers to define research objectives and questions that align with business goals and confidently move initiatives forward.
- Plan and execute research activities, such as user interviews, usability testing, surveys, diary studies, probes and other means, always utilising appropriate methodologies and tools for the phase of the project.
- Empower designers and product teams to understand the research process. Offer guidance and the tools needed to define, plan, and conduct research.
- Analyse research findings and synthesise actionable insights that inform product strategy and drive meaningful design and business decisions.
- Create and maintain research artefacts, including research plans, discussion guides, participant recruitment criteria, and research reports and make it sharable to the team.
- Facilitate workshops to gather information from the business and stakeholders to generate hypotheses and assumptions to inform discovery planning and validate business potential.
- Make a lasting impact on strategy through research by openly engaging in projects and contributing to making data and insights utilised by teams and referenced by stakeholders.
- Communicate insights that ensure alignment, allowing all involved to focus on the most important questions and avoid biased decisions.
- Advocate for a user-centred approach within the organisation and help educate and inspire colleagues about the value of research in the design process.
- Collaborate with other researchers and designers to establish best practices, share knowledge, and contribute to the continuous improvement of product processes at Lunar.
